It is also responsible for selecting and installing all new fixed, mobile and red light safety camera sites within its area.

The Highways Agency is responsible for the implementation of all safety camera housings and related signage on the trunk road network and motorways. It is also responsible for selecting and installing all new fixed and mobile safety camera sites within its area.

Kent Police

Kent Police is responsible for the operation of all fixed, mobile and red light safety cameras at sites chosen by the highway authorities (Kent County Council, Medway Council and the Highways Agency).
They are also responsible for processing and carrying out secondary checks on camera films and DVDs in the Central Ticket Office.
Kent Police have a designated Enquiry Team whose role it is to investigate any non-responses to Fixed Penalty Notices (FPN), non payments of FPN and trace drivers who attempt to evade prosecution. The team also deal with people who nominate incorrect or fictitious drivers, often resulting in sentencing at Crown Court.

Her Majesty's Courts Service is responsibile for the endorsement of driving licences and the acceptance of payments in relation to speeding and red light offences. Magistrates will also hear any cases where a motorist wishes to contest an allegation.
