Mobile safety camera vans
Mobile safety camera vans
These are used at sites where at least one person has been killed or seriously injured in a speed-related crash, over a 5km stretch of road, in the three years prior to installation.

These cameras make use of laser technology. When the camera trigger is squeezed, it emits a rapid stream of laser beams that reflect off the target vehicle and record their speed in a fraction of a second.
These cameras carry out a self-checking procedure when they are switched on and the operator also carries out an alignment and distance check.
Mobile cameras are used from within our safety camera vans, of which we have seven, and are also used to supplement our fixed safety camera sites.
