Mobile enforcement continues at bagged camera sites

23/07/2014 13:56:00

Due to continuing incidents of criminal damage, the Kent & Medway Safety Camera Partnership has today taken out of action two fixed site cameras in Dartford.

Katherine Meehan, Communications Officer for the Partnership said: “Investigations are continuing into these incidents.  The sites will continue to receive speed enforcement from mobile safety camera vans, which also enforce mobile phone and seat belt offences.  The sites were installed because of serious and fatal crashes and we ask members of the public to continue to respect this, and the speed limits, despite the fixed cameras being out of action at present.”

The two camera sites are:

- Truvelo camera - Main Road Sutton at Hone (30mph, both directions).  Installed in 2005 because six people had been killed or seriously injured in the three years over a 1km stretch of road.

- Gatso camera - A226 Dartford Road, nr Phillips Close (30mph, eastbound).  Installed in 1999 because six people had been killed or seriously injured in the three years over a 1km stretch of road.
